CYPRESS OIL
Cypress Oil is distilled from the leaves and twigs of the evergreen, Cypressus Semper virens and possibly from other species of Cypressus. However, only oils distilled from the semper virens species should be accepted as Cypress Oil. An essential oil, distilled exclusively from Cypress Fruits has also been available.
Cypress oil is a pale yellow, pale olive-green or almost colorless, mobile liquid of balsamic, fresh, reminiscent of pine, juniper, cardamom, with unique dryout sweetness.
Main constituents of the oil are monoterpernes, about 70%, pinene and camphene.
Much appreciated for aromatherapy, also used in fragrances.
