Salvia sclarea, synonyms are clary, clary wort, muscatel sage, clear eye, see bright and eyebright.

Erect biennial or perennial herb with large hairy leaves and stout hairy stem, up to around 1 meter high. Native from Europe, can be found in many countries, in mainly cultivated in the Mediterranean region.

Used to obtain the Clary Sage oil are the flowering tops and leaves, used in steam distillation to get the essential oil, also the absolute could be obtain by solvent extraction. Crop is on July and August.
