Chamaemelum nobile, Roman chamomile, wild chamomile and sweet chamomile.
With a strong fragrance, hairy, half-spreading and much branched perennial, with flowerheads about 2 cm. across, up to 0,3 mtrs. high, native in southern Europe. Parts used are the dried expanded flowerheads, obtaining a blue essential oil by steam distillation.
The oily liquis is pale blue in color with a sweet herbal, fruity warm and tealike odor.
